Week In Review no. 4
Oh HAAAYYY Labor Day!
Short & sweet week in review for you guys. It was a hustle week to be sure, but lots of goal setting, long-term strategy planning, and dreaming about the next 10 years got me SO excited about what's to come. And I had a date night with my husband, WHUT?! All around great week. So, let's get this show on the road. Here are my favorites from around the web—
Favorite Article:
This isn't necessarily new information, but this article about creativity and mental illness was eye-opening for me in many ways. I feel like it barely scratches the surface of the conversations that must be continued, but it is worth your time to read about the numerous connections between intelligence, creativity, and mental illness.
Favorite Upcoming Netflix Release:
Ummmmm. I need to take this moment to let you know what a HUGE Christopher Guest fan I am. My first introduction to Guest was in The Princess Bride as the dastardly Six-Fingered Man. Since then he has stolen my heart and many of my laughs with his wit in directing, writing, and acting. So it should come as no surprise that when I heard about his newest mockumentary 'Mascots,' I may have squealed like a little girl. I. CANNOT. WAIT!
Favorite Quote:
Today's quote comes from one of my all-time favorite authors. Her writing inspires me to think more openly and to appreciate the world more fully. This one is a great little Monday motivation:
"You cant test courage cautiously" —Annie Dillard
Favorite New Artist:
She's not new (as made obvious by her stunning work), but she's new to me. I found Kelly Knaga on Instagram a couple weeks ago and am smitten with her work. I have many artist/illustrator/designer friends, and I hope to add Kelly as one of them sometime in the future. Her recent Great Lakes series has me swooning something fierce.
Favorite Giggle:
This commentary on modern music. It's just perfect.
That's it for this week! Go enjoy your Labor Day. Eat grilled things and wear the hell out of white (says the girl in perpetual black clothing).
