Day Eighteen: One Breath, Then Another
To accompany the book, I thought it would be appropriate to write a song that sort of sums up the journey. When you purchase a book- or a ticket to the release party, which includes the price of a book- you'll find in the back a url and code for downloading the song. For free. It's all included. The song is pretty honest. Nothing syrupy about "Well, we know God has plans in the end." Yep. He does, I'm sure because He's God. But I would be kidding myself and you if I wrote a song that summed up our journey through death and grief with "God has plans in the end." That wouldn't look like our journey at all. Instead, it's called "One Breath, Then Another." That's pretty much how you have to take it. Breathe one breath. Then breathe another one. Then another, until it feels natural to breathe again.
I've included a link to my myspace page where you'll find a clip of the song as a preview for you. Listen. Absorb. Relate. Enjoy. Breathe.
